Tucked into the vibrant hillside of historic Eureka Springs, Arkansas, The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs offers a serene haven where creativity flourishes. Our campus is designed to provide writers of all genres with the perfect blend of inspiration, comfort, and community.
A Sanctuary for Creativity
The Dairy Hollow campus features two distinct buildings, 515 Dairy Hollow & 505 Dairy Hollow, each with a personality of its own—offering unique energy, views, and experiences. Across the campus, you’ll find eight private writers’ suites, each with its own character and charm. Whether you’re drawn to cozy and quiet or bright and airy, you’ll find a space that fits your creative vibe.
Every suite includes a cozy bedroom, dedicated writing space, private bathroom, dorm fridge, coffee maker, and high-speed internet—everything you need to settle in, tune out distractions, and let your creativity flow. And for culinary creatives, we’re proud to be one of the only writers’ colonies in the country with a fully equipped Culinary Suite — featuring a private kitchen perfect for cookbook authors, food writers, and recipe developers.
Nourishment for the Body and Soul
Five nights a week, enjoy made-from-scratch, home-cooked dinners prepared with care and served in our welcoming community dining room. These shared meals are often the highlight of the day—bringing together resident writers for inspiration, encouragement, and the occasional belly laugh. Outside of dinner, our shared kitchen is stocked with the basics for breakfast, lunch, or whatever snack suits your schedule
Surrounded by Nature and Culture
Step outside your suite and into the stunning natural beauty of the Ozarks. Wander forested trails, listen to the birdsong, or simply sit by the creek that winds behind the colony. Just steps away is the vibrant, walkable town of Eureka Springs — filled with galleries, bookstores, music, history, and charm.
